Job Purpose
- Carries end-to-end responsibility for the business unit supply planning and is responsible for the total inventory (incl. SEFI and RMP), supply chain costs and planning efficiency
- Secures product availability and coordinates interface with Business Operations Director (BOD), Demand Manager and Customer Service Manager to the BU. Coordinates the interface with Manufacturing, Logistics and Procurement and join as key team member of business unit management team.
- Is jointly accountable with the BOD for OTIF (delivery to request, delivery to promise), supply chain cost, inventory health, finished goods inventory, End-to-end cost to serve (total delivery cost, incl. expedited freight), total lead time and cost of poor quality.
- Manages team of Supply Planning Manager(s) and Project and Improvement Manager. The Value Stream Planning Managers are leading planners in the area of DRP planning, Production planning, Material planning and Capacity planning.
- Coordinates Value Stream Optimization with: Inbound Supply chain manager, Logistics Manager, Manufacturing and Procurement to optimize E2E Cost to Serve, Inventory and Service Level.
- Together with the BOD responsible to define value stream strategy and identify/prioritize improvement programs (i.e: supply network design)
- Develop team capabilities/skills, create career opportunities within the value stream teams.
Key Accountabilities
Operation:
- Define and orchestrate ICO (Industry Coatings) North Asia, E2E Supply Chain strategy, and responsible for supply planning, IBP and rough cart capacity planning
- Coordinate with Logistics Managers SLAs translation into specific warehouse & transportation resource and capacity requirements – ensuring transportation quantities in line with strategy
- Align with Inbound Supply chain manager and Procurement Manager on:
- RMP Stocking points and EOQ
- Material availability / Vendor OTIF performance
- Flexibility of supply of RMP; capacity review; allocation decisions
- Ensure adherence to Global Processes & Planning efficiency
- Follow-up Service Level accuracy and SLA SC bias (~D-OTIF)
- Track End-to-end cost to serve (total delivery cost, incl. expedited freight) and define correction actions when required.
- Chairs S&OE and BU-SMR meetings in the IBP cycle. And participates in PMR, DMR, Regional SMR, BU IR and BU MBR where relevant.
- Define and drives Supply Chain Business performance targets for OTIF, SLOB%, DIO and End-to-end cost to serve.
Team Management:
- Manage the value stream team (several team members) for ICO (Industry Coatings) North Asia
- Demonstrate leadership according to company values, walking the path with the team
- Set-up the team governance and ways of working.
- Ensure the right setting of objectives, performance and development of the team
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to improve E2E value stream performance as well as process efficiency.
- Work closely with supply chain director and BOD to define and deploy the strategy and plans within the ICO North Asia
Experience
- Gained a BS degree, APICS certified (CPIM & CSCP) is preferred.
- Has at least 10 years of work experience both in supply chain and planning roles
- Experience with customer requirements and collaboration
- Gets results through influencing rather than power
- Extensive managerial skills in hands-on leading teams, people development and operational reporting
- Solid knowledge and understanding of AkzoNobel and E2E SCM, Value stream planning, Material Planning, Logistics
- Business acumen to drive impact and optimize for growth; the ability to focus on areas of high business value
- Acts as peer to BOD and is on the career path to become regional Supply Chain leader or BOD
- Cross functional collaboration skills, bringing together procurement, manufacturing, planning, logistics and customer operations and the ability to balance (potentially conflicting) team priorities

- Analytics and planning system skills (SAP, and future planning systems)
