Primary Librarian [Romania]


 

From August 2023, The British School of Bucharest is looking for a full-time Primary Librarian to manage the libraries for students between the ages of 2 and 11. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with a genuine love of reading that they feel passionate to share with our young readers.

The Primary Librarian is responsible for our considerable book stock, organising special events to promote the enjoyment of reading and teaching skills in research.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be able to provide evidence that there are no obstacles to working with children (ie. Criminal History Report).
  • Have experience in working with students between the ages of 5 and 11 years old.
  • Have a high level of English language proficiency.
  • Be willing and able to work collaboratively with colleagues to support the needs of students.
  • Be sympathetic to working in a multi-cultural and international educational community.
  • Have had some previous experience of working in an educational setting and administrative tasks, as well as strong technological skills.
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn and commitment to professional development.
  • Have an outstanding record of attendance, punctuality, professionalism and organisational skills.
  • Have excellent skills in behaviour management.
  • Be able to commit to the post for the full academic year and potentially, beyond.
