Basic Functions
Performs duties as an Aircraft power train technician; performs unit level maintenance on aircraft power train and rotor systems. In addition, disassembles friction dampers and hanger assemblies. Repairs and services power train and rotor components. Applies corrosion preventative procedures. Cleans, preserves, and stores assigned components. Performs operator maintenance on ground support equipment and tools. Maintains shop and bench stock for repair of aircraft power train and rotor systems. Prepares forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. Ensures maintenance operations are conducted IAW safety regulations and directives. Provide technical direction and training to Ministry of National Guard Soldiers, as needed.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
A. Duties/responsibilities:
1. Ensures that aircraft Powertrain maintenance and procedures are planned and coordinated with production control.
B. Performs within the broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities under the direction and supervision of the mechanic section lead or PC supervisors.
C. Supervisory Responsibilities: As directed by the first line supervisor or higher.
1. Ensures that aircraft Powertrain maintenance and procedures are planned and coordinated with production control.
2. Complies with established maintenance procedures.
3. Establishes daily maintenance goals and priorities.
4. Participates in daily power train maintenance.
5. Works within the maintenance quality control procedures and standards.
6. Supports the Downed Aircraft Recovery Team (DART), as needed.
7. Ensures maintenance operations are conducted IAW safety regulations and directives.
8. Provides On-the-Job Training (OJT), coaching, and mentoring to MNG personnel.
9. Other tasks as directed by the first line supervisor or higher.

Minimum Qualifications
A. Education Level:
1. Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
B. Training Certifications:
1. Required: Graduate of the US Army aviation power train maintenance course or military equivalent.
C. Experience:
1. Required: 4 years’ as an aviation powertrain technician.
D. Specific knowledge, skills, ability:
1. Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms, and other aircraft related documentation.
1. Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Preferred: Advanced degree or equivalent.
B. Training Certifications:
1. Required: Graduate of the US Army aviation power train maintenance course or military equivalent.
2. Preferred: Graduate of the US Army aviation power train maintenance course or military equivalent and FAA A&P certification.
C. Experience:
1. Required: 4 years’ as an aviation powertrain technician.
2. Preferred: 6 years’ experience as an aviation powertrain technician.
D. Specific knowledge, skills, ability:
1. Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms, and other aircraft related documentation.
2. Proficient in MS Office software.
3. Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
4. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.
5. Possess a valid issued driver’s license.
6. Successfully pass an overseas deployment physical upon hire.
