Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Joining our Data and Digital Operations and Applications team, your primary role is to provide expert level technical support for applications, systems and platforms internal to Te Whatu Ora-Health New Zealand. This role is a 6 month fixed term position. You may be required to work after hours from time to time. You will also be required to participate in a 24/7 on-call support roster.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
  • Provide technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures.
  • Use infrastructure management tools to determine load and performance statistics.
  • Identify operational problems and contribute to their resolution, checking that they are managed in accordance with agreed standards and procedures.
  • Provide suggestions for improvement to specialists, users and managers.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of maintenance and installation work, including building and configuration of infrastructure components in virtualised and cloud-based environments.
  • Implement agreed infrastructure changes and maintenance routines. Configure tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of new and changed infrastructure.

As an excellent communicator you will be able to deliver required outcomes in a focused, professional manner.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience:
  • Knowledge and experience relevant to IT corporate technologies, such as Microsoft 365 platform services including Exchange Online/Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, InTune & Defender
  • Knowledge and experience with automation and scripting (using PowerShell/Ansible/Python);
  • Working knowledge of Vmware Servers, basic networking skills and troubleshooting as well as email protocols and security (DKIM, DMARC, TLS)
  • Experience with Cloud, AWS and Azure services and practices;
  • Familiarity Business Intelligence Applications (Business Objects, SaS, Qlik Sense, R-Server)
  • Focus on quality and comfortable with ambiguity;
  • Strong multi-level troubleshooting skills – application, system, platform;
  • Familiarity with Kanban, Agile, Scrum, DevOps and SRE;
  • Creative, self-starter, addresses challenges in an ordered, collaborative manner;
  • Loves to learn and share, particularly new technologies & development processes.
Previous work experience in the health sector would be beneficial for success in this role.

  • An understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in your role
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a willingness to learn and grow
