Job Description:
As we continue to grow as a company we are looking to add to our dynamic People and Culture team. We are looking for an HR and Payroll Administrator who will be an important addition to our team, with responsibility for keeping all things administration running effectively and optimally. You will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of both US and Canadian payroll, benefits administration, HRIS management, and regular metric reporting and tracking. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring our office spaces are running smoothly for our team in collaboration with our tech services and facilities team.
Responsibilities:
- Accurate and timely processing of semi-monthly payroll for both Canadian and US employees, including salary calculations, benefits, and deductions.
- Ensuring compliance with state and provincial payroll and tax requirements, including setting up payroll structures in new states and staying on top of remittances.
- Collaborating with the Director of Finance and Admin and the payroll service provider to ensure the seamless payment of statutory deductions.
- All things relating to HR reporting, analytics and data tracking. You take a proactive approach to ensure all employee records are kept to a high standard of accuracy. You will drive keeping our People and Culture team well informed so that we can ensure consistency across the organization as we grow.
- Responsible for benefits administration and onboarding and offboarding of employees in the HRIS system.
- Supporting the Toronto and Cambridge teams with facilities management, ensuring that workspaces are well stocked with kitchen and office supplies, and liaising with facilities vendors to ensure a clean, healthy and productive office environment.
Requirements and Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in processing payroll, preferably with exposure to both US and Canadian payroll practices.
- Hands-on experience with ADP as a payroll and HRIS system would be considered an asset.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.
- Superior organization and attention to detail. If your closet is colour-coded, we want to talk to you.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Problem-solving skills and a self-starter.
