Essex Westford School District is seeking an Individual Assistant at Essex Middle School, beginning in the 23/24 school year. This position supports and supervises a student with special needs in a classroom and community setting. responsibilities include implementing the student's customized educational program, assisting with self-care such as feeding and toileting, and assisting with interactions with others using alternative methods. - Implement the program developed by the IEP team.
- Assist in the informal assessments to determine student progress and needs.
- Participate in various community activities and field trips with students.
- Assist student as needed with toileting, eating, wheelchair transport, transfer, and other needs as identified by the student's specific plan.
- Supervise student(s) when the teacher steps out of the room.
