Canoe Forest Products Ltd. is a division of the Gorman Group of Companies, located near Salmon Arm, BC, and is a busy Plywood production facility. Canoe Forest Products Ltd. (CFP) produces superior quality Canadian softwood sheathing and specialty plywood products under the trademark CANOE brand®. Since 1965, the CANOE brand® has distinguished itself as a premium quality plywood panel that is well recognized and valued throughout the world.
CFP has immediate Production Labourer positions available within their plywood plant facility. These positions are approximately 40 hours per week. This is a unionized position and is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement between Interior Forest Labour Relations Association and United Steelworkers.
Reporting directly to the shift supervisor, you will be working with a team of employees, who are responsible for producing Canoe brand “Quality Proud” plywood products. Applicants are required to work shift work and be available for all shifts. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience.
KEY ROLES of this position include but are not limited to:
- Work shift work and be available for all shifts on short notice
- Working in a manufacturing production environment
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Physical ability to perform labour intensive occupations
- High School Diploma or equivalency is considered an asset
- Previous experience in forestry or manufacturing is considered an advantage
- Must be 18 years of age or older as per the new BC Government legislation
